I shot these photos while directing Miranda Lee Richard’s music video for her song “Early November”. The guy in the second photo is her husband, music producer Rick Parker.

I saw The Horrors at The Annex back in 06 during CMJ…I was walking to the show at about 11:45pm…i ran into Paul Banks from Interpol walking away from the club who said he didn’t feel like waiting to see them, but that he’d heard they were great..I was covering the conference for Spin so i went…I got to the Annex, it was Sooo Crowded and hot! i found a speaker to position myself on around midnight. I proceeded to wait until about 1:15am for them to start (at least it felt like forever). They were incredible to watch thankfully. So when Mojo magazine phoned and asked me to shoot The Horrors I jumped at the chance to cover it.
Mojo love their new album “Primary Colors” along with everyone else…I love these primary colored photos we got to shoot at The Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood before their gig that night with The Kills.
I was excited to get to photograph Andrew again…I did his very first photo shoot for Drive Thru Records many moons ago for his band Something Corporate down in OC. I was then asked to do another shoot, then another and another and now Andrew and i have become friends and love working together. I hope to do many more projects with him as he blossoms into an even more talented song writer and performer. I just think he’s amazing and he’s totally got “it”.

I wrote a video treatment for Howling Bells and they accepted, so I went to London to film the music video for the single of their new record called “Cities Burning Down”. It was an amazing experience and the video came out awesome! I was photo editing Filter Magazine at the time so photographed a feature spread on the band as well. I did this all in one week! It was a busy week to say the least.

My Friend Caitlin and i were at a Ping Pong Tournament when she said.”would you want to be in a Sparkle Horse Danger Mouse Music Video David Lynch is Directing?” Uuh, Does the Pope shit in the woods? (TC;) She took my photo and i was in the mix with this amazing project. Here are the photos. David poured the blood on my arm himself and the man whispering in my ear is Bryan Smalls of The Hangmen. I guess the video isn’t out yet, so they did a big photo gallery exhibition at the Michael Kohn gallery and lots of celebs were there, including Spock from the New Star Trek, Zachary Quinto! He rules. These images were scanned from the book that came out on the show and video. Forgive the shitty home scans.
My friend Steffie who’s a writer is working on a book/TV show called Oh Audrey where they ask musicians their favorite dishes and demonstrate how to make them on the show. Basically another cooking show, but with bands. They invited me to do photos for the Cat Power Episode and for the cook book. I jumped at this opportunity being such a big fan of her music, beauty and mystique.

I did photos of Soul Savers with Mark Lanegan and Steve Gullick which was a great opportunity, although they were having some political problems that night within the group. Thankfully, the opportunity presented itself again a month later for me to be able to shoot Greg Duli and Mark Lanegan at Greg’s Bar in Echo Park, The Short Stop.

There are so many artists I listen to and love, I decided to start contacting them to see if they would be interested in doing some photos with me. Jose Gonzalez was the first to oblige. He is such a saint, his demeanor and his music are heavenly. The girl he is kissing is his girlfriend, also from Sweden Yukimi Nagano. These were shot at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood, Ca in Feb 2008.
